Our strategy requires it; not necessarily because South Africa faces greater political uncertainty, low GDP growth and ZAR weakness since 1994, but because the investment universe and ability to find asymmetric opportunities is far greater on a global scale. The Fund can and will make use of up to 35% offshore exposure to take advantage of such opportunities. The same investment process applied to local strategies will be applied to those offshore.
Furthermore, Nick Van Rensberg, a global fund manager at Milkwood Capital managing the Redwood Fund, will partner with Asymmetry to provide knowledge, skills and a flow of offshore opportunities. This will boost Asymmetry’s offshore capability and ensure immediate access to offshore exposure.
